One of the co-founders of WikiRing Consultants, Crawford Currie is a highly experienced software architect, programmer and manager. Since 2003 he has been the owner of C-Dot consultants and has been involved in a range of groupware consulting projects for companies throughout the world, mainly leveraging open source tools to provide cost-effective solutions. C-Dot's clients range from small startups to several major multi-nationals, in industries as diverse as real-estate and biotechnology.
In a previous life Crawford was a technical manager with Motorola, the global telecoms company, where he worked on advanced CAD software for electronics. While with Motorola, he found that the groupware and teamworking tools available did not meet his requirements for coordinating a multi-site, multi-national team, so he introduced Motorola to the TWiki platform. This platform is now in use by over 3,500 engineers in Motorola, and made Crawford an open source and team tools evangelist. Crawford is the author of numerous patches and plugins for TWiki, and has been a key contributor to the core platform.
Crawford has over 25 years experience in a wide range of languages and technologies, including C, C++, Java, Javascript and Perl.
